OUR STORY
YOU HAD ME AT "HELLO"
It all started at HarperCollins Publishers. Nicole was an Assistant Editor in New York City and Ashley an author and illustrator based in England. While working on Ashley’s first children’s book, Nicole and he occasionally emailed with respect to his book but it wasn’t until November 2, 2015 when Nicole and Ashley met in person for the first time. The next day, Nicole attended one of his book events, where Ashley’s wonderful agent tricked the two into having a drink together afterwards! They had their first official date the following night, on November 4, 2015, in Brooklyn at Radegast Hall & Biergarten. Did they know it was true love yet? Oh, they felt the sparks. They kept in touch, and on a “who-knows-what-can-happen” whim (along with Ashley’s pleading and encouragement!), Nicole traveled to England that December to spend a week with Ashley. From then on, both Nicole and Ashley knew this was something special and continued to date each other long distance for the next two years, going back and forth – and overseas – between England and New York.
In June 2017, after spending the most perfect day imaginable in Central Park (yes, there was rowing, a picnic and craft beer), Ashley proposed to Nicole on a NYC rooftop. The answer, simply, was yes. Please join Nicole and Ashley at Crabtree’s Kittle House, the place where Ashley first had dinner with Nicole’s parents, on August 11, 2018 to celebrate their love story as they exchange vows.
XOXO
